From online to brick and mortar, the soap shop cleans up with a team approach | Life

Creativity and commerce coalesced at the Crossroads Mall on Thursday when the Country Baby Soapery made its debut during a grand-opening ribbon-cutting celebration hosted by the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce.

Featuring handcrafted soap, candles and fragrances, the Country Baby Soapery is located inside the mall, neighboring Retro Reset right across from the Hallmark store. Polytechnique mass shooting survivor slams gun rights group for using ‘POLY’ promo code

A mass shooting survivor and spokesperson for gun-control group PolySeSouvient says it is “incredibly disrespectful” for firearm rights advocates to invoke the group’s name in a merchandise sale discount code.

The Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights’ online shop recently offered 10 per cent off clothing, mugs and other items to customers who used “POLY” as a promo code.

Online shop imports wearable heirlooms for kids

Wild Wawa, an Encinitas-based online children’s shop, is importing handmade, wearable heirlooms all the way from Peru.

“The artisanal craft makes it so much more special to have something handmade,” said Wild Wawa’s co-founder Micaella Basham. “It’s not something that can be easily copied or mass produced. It’s special that you can feel the love in each stitch.”

Translating to “wild baby” in Quechua, the native language spoken in the Peruvian Andes, the line of children’s wear traces back to 2016, when Basham and her mom, Marina Gunther, launched the brand, inspired by Basham’s baby girl, Valentina.

“My mom let me go through her closet,” Nicole told E! News in 2016, “and she didn’t treat her clothes like they were precious, so I did the same thing with her. There are times when she grabs something and I’m like [eek]…’OK!’ And then I sneak five minutes later and take it back.” (And sometimes the borrowing ran both ways, as when Nicole stepped out in her daughter’s on-point faux-furry pink jacket in 2014.)

And when she did a collab with Urban Decay in 2018, Nicole said her then 10-year-old also enjoyed experimenting with makeup. Maybe even
