Book Depository: Online bookshop owned by Amazon to close as company cuts costs

the book The depository online shop is set to be shut down at the end of the month by the parent firm Amazons.

The bookseller has told customers and publishing partners it will close on April 26.

It comes as part of a raft of cuts by technology giant Amazon to heavily reduce its costswhich have hit thousands of jobs.

Gloucester-based Book Depository was founded in 2004 by former Amazon employee Andrew Crawford and business partner Stuart Felton.

Amazon then took over the business, which has offices in London, Gloucester, Madrid, Cape Town and Chennai, in 2011.

Fishing season coming soon for Manitobans, including electronic licenses – Winnipeg

There are still a few weeks before Manitoba anglers will be able to start the fresh-water fishing season, but the province says licensing in 2023 will be easier than it’s ever been.

Natural resources minister Greg Nesbitt announced Wednesday that new angling licenses can be purchased online and at vendors beginning on Saturday, with annual licenses becoming valid May 1. One-day angling licenses will also be valid for specific dates.

The province said starting this year, anglers can carry licenses on their electronic devices, although hard copies remain an option. Licenses are
