Euphoria actor Sydney Sweeney teams up with Ford on apparel line

DEARBORN, Mich. – Actor Sydney Sweeney has teamed up with Ford Motor Company on an apparel line that they can’t keep on the shelves.

Sweeney, best known for her roles in the HBO series “The White Lotus” and “Euphoria,” has been a Ford fan from the start.

“I came from a family of mechanics, and I learned how to drive on my great-grandpa’s F-100,” Sweeney said in a promotional video.

Sweeney spends her time in the garage restoring her vintage Ford Bronco when she’s not on set. Her social media videos showing her working on the car got Ford’s attention.

“That’s the best thing about this whole partnership is that it’s so authentic,” said Erica Martin, a manager with Ford Marketing and Communications. “She loves the brand, she loves her Bronco, and she was like, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’”

The workwear line produced by Dickies sold out in a matter of hours following its April launch.

The Ford x Sydney Sweeney line included overalls, work pants, a bandana, and a baseball hat.

“The collection sold out in 31 hours,” Martin said. “We actually had to do a small restock because the orders came to our website so fast that we were actually oversold by a bit.”

Few items and sizes were left in stock, leaving fans wanting more. Eager customers continue to comment on the Auto 101 video series Sweeney did with Ford as part of the partnership.

“All of the comments were ‘Restock the overalls, please’ because she was wearing the overalls in all of the videos,” Martin said.

The collaboration was a shift for the automotive company, bringing new attention and perhaps customers to the Ford family.

“People went nuts,” Martin said. “It was kind of exciting because we got a lot of press outside our normal (publications) where you would see a car brand show up. Vogue covered the story and People. It brought a lot of new people to the brand.”

When asked if the clothing collaboration would continue, Martin said both Ford and Sweeney were open to the idea.
